The KAPU water pan project is a multi-community investment by National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Growth Project, NARIGP through funding from the World Bank, the National Government of Kenya and the County Government of Turkana to resolve issues of flooding, water shortage and farmland degradation in Kaputir and Katilu Wards. Through a spate irrigation system, flood water will be harvested during the rainy season and stored in the water pan. It will have a storage capacity of 117,360mᵌ which will be enough to supply the area’s livestock and households.
